We are eager for all souls to be saved as Jesus would want.
We are a warm friendly people who will treat you with honor and dignity
If you have not worshipped with this congregation or a church of Christ before, we would like to
familiarize you with our service.

Bible Classes:
We have age appropriate Bible classes for everyone.

One of the unique things about Churches of Christ is that the music is "a cappello".  This is, we sing
without the accompaniment of musical instruments.  This is a conviction with us.  It has its' roots in our
restoration hereitage.  We are seeking to Worship according to the New Testament pattern.  Since the
New Testament leaves instrumental music out, we believe it is best to exclude it also.
(1 Corinthians 14:15; Hebrews 2:12)

The Praying:
Spoken prayers are a large part of our gathering.  We believe in the power of Prayer.  We often pray for
specific Need and Request.
(Acts 2:42; James 5:15-16)

The Sermon:
A Bible-based message
is shared from the pulpit and applied to our lives today.
We hope that you will find it encouraging.
At the close of the sermon, any worshipper may respond to the gospel message of Christ by walking
down front and express your concerns to the preacher waiting to greet you.  A person may come to the
front and request prayers of the church for themselves, a family member or acquaintance.  "The
effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much", (James 5:16).  A person may also want to
become a Christian by putting on his Lord and Savior in baptism.  One becomes a Christian by
expressing their faith by confessing that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and then being baptized.  Baptism is
performed through immersion in water(Acts 8:35; Romans 6:3-4; Colossians 2:12) and is for the
forgiveness of one's sins (Acts 2:38).  Baptism is the means in which one is united with Christ
(Galatians 3:27) and through which God adds a person to His church (Acts 2:41-47).  You are then a Christian, a
child of God.  He expects you to meet with the saints at every opportunity (Hebrews 10:25), to edify and
encourage one another in the faith, and to learn more of His Word and His will for you.  You must remain
faithful to the church that Jesus Christ built for as long  as you live and your reward awaits you in heaven.

Lord's Supper:
As a Christian you will now join with the saints to commune with the Lord by taking part in the Lord's
Supper on the first day of each week.  Each Sunday we observe a memorial known as
the Lord's Supper or Communion.  Jesus instituted this memorial before his death on the cross
(Matthew 26:28).  The "unleavened bread" and the "fruit of the vine" symbolize the body and blood of Christ.  In
this memorial our minds go back to the cross and the sacrifice that Jesus made on our behalf when he was crucified.
We partake of the Lord's Supper every Sunday.  Luke writes in Acts 20:7 that "upon the first day of the week,
when the disciples came together to break bread....".
We reason that the "first day of the week" means the first day of every week.

How many times will you be asked for money?  None.
However, containers will be passed to collect the weekly financial offering
(1 Corinthians 16:1-2).  As our guests, you are not expected to make a donation.
Feel perfectly comfortable in just passing the collection plate down the row.

At Cold Springs, you will find people of great faith who love Jesus and the Bible and
we would love for your to become a part of our church family.
God is no respecter of persons and neither are we.
You will find members from many different ethnic backgrounds.  Asian, Black, Caucasian, Spanish, etc. they are
all the same in our eyes as in God's.  We are not only the oldest congregation in Dallas, County Texas; but
as the earliest settlers who started this congregation of the Church of Christ would write back to their families,
"we find them to be a friendly people",
and you will find that true today.
